We understand your unique needs. Joe Dunbar has hands on experience with all popular POS systems, inventory control software and hardware, major distributor ordering systems and accounting programs.
Joe Dunbar worked in high school and college at many restaurant and hotel jobs including short order cook, front desk clerk, night auditor, security, bellhop, busboy, caterer, fast food unit management, ice cream shop counterman, restaurant cashier and racetrack refreshment vendor.
After two years of post-MBA corporate auditing, Joe returned to the food service industry as an operations auditor for International Boatel (Sodexo's North American remote site feeding subsidiary) in Canada, Alaska and Western Colorado. In less than two years, he was promoted to CFO. While he was CFO, International Boatel acquired Crawley and McCracken, HDS Canada Ltd. and Jalinar. Joe moved to Montreal to work on integrating the acquired companies.
During a 9 year stint with Sodexo, Joe organized the financial accounting, information technology, purchasing and administration functions. Due to a contractual obligation, he continued performing operations reviews on the largest account - Syncrude - in Northern Alberta.
The Syncrude account required many contract revisons and union contract negotiations including quarterly price escalations, two contract extensions, revisions of labor contracts and many quality control reviews. These activities provided Joe with the perfect environment for using his cost accounting expertise.
After 9 years with Sodexo, Joe started Dunbar Associates in early 1990. He uses his combined 30 years of food service experience to help today's operators solve many puzzles.
